Advertising

To advertise something, one need an awesome idea that can change human mindset about a product or mind. Hence, creativity is the main priority. There are many ads that we see, watch and listen in our everyday life. Media plays an important role as big media can broadcast to vast audience. Some ads help people to understand how the product work. For example, Samsung ads.

This ads is about a glasses. Hello Kitty brand. They used colours to attract audiences.

As this one,its about a rest stop ads. If you look, its kinda scary. The idea of enter a mouth will give make the audience respond differently. It could be funny.

Ads could only work depends on how the audience react. It is good? It is annoying?

Sometimes ads do lie to people. In the ads,we see the product is good and promising but the outcome is different. For example, healthcare or cosmetics product. Advertising is important for economy. But it also crashed down other media such as music CDs. Nowadays, people gets music online!

People do often spend time more on the internet. So, there are many, many and many annoying ads on the website; which make me very annoyed.

Do you realize something? Ads do evolve. But,how long would it last,the printed media. On day, how would  an agency advertise again? If they all dried of ideas. Creative ideas. Would advertising last long? Will they always new idea?

Creativity In Art

From what I learn during the class, Dadaism is a new form of art. It was an art movement of the European, wrote Wikipedia.It was born of negative World War I.
Their arts are very rare and creative. Collage technique is used widely through their art. Pictures from magazines and newspaper.
Lets check some of their work.

 

See how the art is display. I think the art is sarcastic as they try to convey the negative about something. I think this one is clearly shown.

There are many ways to express art. We need to be a step ahead to be creative. One can express creativity through photo montage, canvas painting, photo collage like the Dadaist and etc. So, a a courage to be creative!

Random Words & Image Association

This week, that's the topic. A new method to be creative! From what I had learn, we could not combine problem and random words together. Let me tell briefly how to use this method.
First, you got to have a problem.
Then, what you need is a random word or image.
Next, try come out with something new that has connection. Not combine!
Let me show an example....

Problem : How make people stop smoking?

Random word : Traffic light

From my understanding, we need to list first what are the characteristic of traffic light.

• Colour
• Metal
• Sign
• Dirty

Do you get what I mean? Alright. How to apply these information to the cigarette?
Let begin with colour...

Red = Stop
Yellow = Ready
Green = Go

We obviously can't put green colour. So its either red or yellow. Actually, yellow can effect our brain more than red. People won't buy yellow cigarette. would they?

Or maybe this will make people stop smoking...

Well, smokers know what they will feel about it. Now, my ideas to apply the other 3 characteristic.

SIGN
I'm thinking of putting lizard image on the cigarette...

Yukk! gross! I almost throw up.... Lets just move on.

Next, METAL

Would they still smoke if the cigarettes taste like metal? The idea is to make metal flavour, which I suppose no one would like the taste of metal. Someone need to try that one out.

Last but not least, DIRTY.

At first, I had problems brainstorming this and I just come out with spraying mud on the surface of the cigarette. Would that effect them? Well, the cigarette is blank, pure white-except the butt- so giving the idea of dirty might make them think twice before firing it up.

Thats all for this week entry. I do hope smokers quit, if they really love their live.

Juxtaposition Part 2

I think juxtaposition really helps everyone to come out with new ideas. From what Mr. RadziBedu said, designers use this technique to bring great ideas.

Below are our next exercise in class.

HOW MERGERS GO WRONG

I had created an image upon above title. By usring two animals, I'll show why. Take a look!

Why it goes wrong? How can a long, thin and slender neck support a big, heavy head? Its illogical. If this kind of species exist, they wouldn't live long. There will be many ele-rafe died because of broken neck. They could never walk properly and for a long time. The ele-rafe is not stable. It is impossible.

Describe LOVE with CHILLI

For this exercise, we wrote a poem and this is what I wrote.

Just a simple one.... Actually the 'chilli' word need to included in the poem. That's why it's a bit funny.

Describe PAIN with ICE-CREAM

Ice cream, ice cream, ice cream,

Many flavour to choose,

Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry,

Its delicious when eat cold,

Because once it melts,

Its no more ice cream.

Sometimes,

I'm having brain freeze when eat you,

The pain is so strong,

But I still want more,

The colder the ice cream, more pain to endure.

Just like our wish,

The higher we wish and hope,

The pain is more stronger if we don't get it.

Describe MAN/WOMEN with MORTAR & PESTLE

 

Man and women are like mortar and pestle,

They are destined for each other,

Like a pair of mortar and pestle.

Its man's job to find their right women,

Wrong pestle wouldn't look nice with the pestle,

Man have a gift in their heart,

To know which women is their soul mate.

Use it wise,

Dear man.

p/s: for this part, we have to describe our opposite gender. I have to describe man.

Juxtaposition Part 1

From what I had learn, juxtaposition is something like metaphor or simile. It is actually two different words or object that are in contact. Then, our brain will try to figure out the relationship between these two things. The outcome will be very interesting I guess. Not to worry, I had experience it in our class. It is fun though its kinda confusing and randomly.

Above are 2 columns of different words. Next we need to choose 3 pairs of number consisting from 00 to 99.  Then the two columns are label with numbers. Like below...

After that, we need to make a sentence for each pair of words without changing their order... Here's mine...

Next, we are require to draw out the sentences. Well, my drawings are bad and these are the pictures...

See? I can't draw what I imagined in my mind. Then, we need to draw again but by combining the words.

This is the hardest and unthinkable one. How on earth should dog and spider become one?? Seriously, this the logic one I can figure it out.

Mortar & Pestle

See this picture? Awesome right? Puahahaha~
This just a short-time work...
You guys know mortar and pestle? The one that our mother use in the kitchen, to mix up some ingredients...

Well, that's what mind map is all about... We mix some ideas to produce Supah-Dupah-Awesome-Ideas !!!!

Genius right?

For a very simple & logistic example:

Mind mapping is about gathering some parts of ideas to come out with a fresh and new idea! With just a random word,we can list all things that directly connected or not. Our brain works randomly somehow and mind map can help our brain trigger something that may be new to the world... Well, who knows right?

That's what basically happening.. Now I want to show what my brain spark of when I was asked to come out about mortar & pestle using the words that were listed... The 3 words that I chose are.... 

GIRL POWER GAME

the mortar use to hold the powder while pestle is use to brush powder to cheeks... awesome, right?

well this one is kinda illogical because one use this to gain power. once the mortar is hit, about 5 km radius around this will be under one's command.

LaSt ONe!

it's a GAME !!!!!! balancing mortar... do you really think you can balance a mortar using a pestle? if you do, then you're a god of this game... to balance such weight.. hmmm... lets give a try shall we?

Mind Map & Me!

I was introduce to mind map when I was 12 years-old. I do like them because there are colourful and new to me at that moment. I had saw many mind map and I want to do one too. But, whenever I start it,the outcome was always disappointing. From that moments onwards, I always did a simple, plain, boring mind map.

For me, this kind of mind map is easiest. Just use words. But,entering this course, those kind of mind map would never be appreciate. We as creative person must challenge our level of creativeness to survive the world. I hope I will one day contribute something gigantic to this industry.
